Ride1Up has updated its cheaper electric bike model, the CORE-5. The battery energy has been increased to 12.8 Ah to improve the bicycle’s assistance range. Plus, a 60 Lux headlight has been fitted to the front of the vehicle. The pedelec is still equipped with a 750 W motor for a top speed of 15 mph (~24 kph) and up to 60 Nm of torque.

The Ride1Up CORE-5 e-bike model has been updated. The battery energy charge has been increased by almost 25%, from 10.8 Ah to 12.8 Ah. This should also extend the range of the bike, which was previously rated as up to 40 miles (~64 km).

The 48 V battery with a smart battery management system is locked to the bike to prevent theft. A 14 Ah Reention Eel battery pack is available as an optional upgrade. Another new feature of the vehicle is a 60 Lux front light to help you to see and be seen in low lighting.

The bike is still fitted with a 48 V Shengyi 750 W motor, providing up to 65 Nm of torque and a top speed of 15 mph (~24 kph) across three speed modes. A KD21C adjustable speed LCD is mounted to the handlebars, which can provide real-time charging status and information about your ride. The vehicle is also fitted with all-terrain tyres and a kickstand, and rated IP-65 water-resistant.

A 6061 alloy frame helps to keep the bike lightweight; the CORE-5 weighs 49 lbs (~22 kg) overall. You can buy the Ride1Up CORE-5 e-bike for US$1,195, the same price as before. The electric bicycle is available with step-through and crossover frames in three colors: Mint Azure, Blue Midnight and Gray. Currently, the company only ships to North America.
