November was reportedly an excellent month for AMD on Amazon when it comes to consumer desktop CPUs. According to data shared by TechEpiphany on X, the top three best CPUs by revenue were all AMD Ryzen X3D processors in the following order:
- The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is in first place at $4,399,900.
- The Ryzen 9 9950X3D is in second place at $2,619,960.
- The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is in third place at $2,195,940.
On the other hand, Intel’s top CPU revenue-wise, the Core Ultra 9 285K, only managed around $524,990 per TechEpiphany. This is disappointing since the similarly priced Ryzen 9 9950X3D brought in 499% more cash for AMD. The revenue gap was an astounding 838% between the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and the Core Ultra 9 285K.
It makes sense why the Ryzen 9 9950X3D sold much better than the Core Ultra 9 285K if we look at the performance of the Ryzen 9 9950X3D. Per our review of the 16-core Ryzen processor, the performance difference between the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and the Core Ultra 9 285K is only 3% to 4% in the Cinebench 2024 single-core and multi-core benchmarks. Add in around 30% faster gaming performance, and one can see why the Ryzen 9 9950X3D generated more much more money the Core Ultra 9 285K (available on amazon.com).
The Ryzen 7 9800X3D remains unbeaten in gaming. While the CPU doesn’t deliver as much multi-core performance as the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and the Core Ultra 9 285K, it is both faster and more efficient in gaming workloads.
Finally, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D also remains an excellent choice for gamers. It only trails the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and the Ryzen 9 9950X3D in gaming performance. However, it is more efficient than both Zen 5 processors. Moreover, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D can currently be yours for just $369.99 on Amazon, which is much cheaper than the $454.99 Ryzen 7 9800X3D and the $679.99 Ryzen 9 9950X3D.
