While a remaster of Resident Evil 5 does not appear to be planned, a fan decided to create a unique mod. NexusMods user Evgeshajk (Evgeny Grishaev) recently unveiled a 4K texture pack, making the game more realistic than ever.
Now, it's important to note that Resident Evil 5 was released in 2009, and like all games from that era, the graphics are starting to feel outdated. And it can be difficult to play it today and appreciate the story of this title.
As a solution, Evgeshajk, a modder known for his various Resident Evil projects, is offering a 4K texture pack that brings the game's visuals up to date. And that's not all, because according to him, 90% of the textures have been remastered.
Regarding the work done, Evgeny claims he did upscaling with the help of AI. However, artificial intelligence did not do the work independently, and it was not a generative AI, as it was simply used to make the textures clearer. Then, everything was finalized with manual retouching.
And the result is quite impressive, because the different textures benefit from a second youth. And it gets even better, because the lighting has also been improved, adding realism for players.
Thus, if you want to get this mod for Resident Evil 5, it is available for free on Nexus Mods. But be sure to follow the installation steps carefully to avoid any issues. Please note you must have a Nexus Mods account to download the files, or support the mod maker financially through Patreon or Boosty.
