The closed beta of the popular pirate adventure Sea of Thieves starts on April 12
Sea of Thieves was released in March 2018 for the Xbox One and PC and has a very good rating on Steam with 90 percent positive opinions. Developed by Rare and published by Microsoft Studios, the action adventure game offers an open world inspired by pirate myths in which players experience their own adventures. Players can go on treasure hunts, explore mysterious islands or measure their skills through sea battles with other players.
On February 21, the Developer Rare announced that Sea of Thieves is also coming to the PlayStation 5. Now it's almost time: on April 30, PS5 players can start their own pirate adventure. If you don't want to wait that long, you can already let off steam in the closed beta. According to an X-Post (formerly Twitter) on the official Sea of Thieves account, the closed beta starts next Friday, April 12 at 11 a.m. Central European Time and runs until Monday, April 15 at the same time.
The Sea of Thieves @PlayStation 5 Closed Beta takes place this weekend, April 12th-15th (9am UTC)! Participate to earn the Dauntless Adventurer Sails and Title, for use exclusively on the PlayStation platform.

Beta access for pre-orders
Access to the closed beta is available to anyone who has pre-ordered Sea of Thieves from the PlayStation Store. Which of the three versions players choose has no influence on beta access. There is a choice between the basic version for 40 $, the Deluxe Edition for 50 $ and the Premium Edition for 60 $. While the Deluxe Edition only includes cosmetic items and gold, the Premium Edition gives fans access to Early Access and allows them to play Sea of Thieves on PS5 five days earlier.
