Destiny 2 Into the Light free download drops today
Destiny 2 players have a big update to look forward to. Bungie will be dropping the Into the Light content expansion at 10 AM PDT or 1 AM EDT today, Tuesday, April 9. This update will bridge the gap between the Season of the Wish patch that dropped last year and the upcoming Final Shape update.
The update is free to download, which means all the players will be able to experience what the content expansion has to offer. Speaking of which, unlike the past updates or seasons, Bungie has revealed a lot about the Into the Light expansion before it's available to gamers.
As Bungie detailed, the new Destiny 2 free update introduces the Onslaught mode. It's a horde-inspired mode that players have been wanting for a long time, and it seems like the gamers have finally been listened to.
Players who participate in Onslaught will get access to the Brave Arsenal. This collection has 12 of the best weapons that are available in the game, all of which come with a new outlook and set of perks. Players will be able to unlock special editions of each of the 12 guns between Into the Light and Final Shape updates.
The new Destiny 2 update also brings the game's first PvP map pack. Bungie showed off these maps in a live stream earlier this month. Another highlight of the Into the Light expansion is the return of Whisper of the Worm and Zero Hour. Both missions come along with their respective guns. Overall, there's a lot that the free download is bringing to the table. If you want more details on the update, you can check out the video attached below.
