The Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield leak evolves into a deluge as most of the alleged Pokédex appears online
More Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield-related characters have apparently been leaked online, to the point that it seems most of the Pokédex can now be viewed (spoiler alert – many of these characters can be seen in the images posted below this article). There is the possibility that the images are not genuine, although some of them stem from screenshots of what appears to be a guidebook for the 8th-generation of Pokémon games.
Should the current flood of leaks all contain Pokémon that are actually part of the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games, which will be released on November 15, then it will be a major disappointment for the companies behind the development of the titles. Game Freak, The Pokémon Company, and Nintendo would clearly prefer gamers to discover the new content while playing the games rather than being made aware of it through unofficial channels.
A Twitter account known for leaking Pokémon information has even posted a more than half-filled grid featuring all the supposed characters that will be in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, with more monsters having leaked in the meantime. The immense popularity of the series shouldn’t see sales of the upcoming games affected in a negative manner by the numerous leaks, and it could even work in the favor of the companies that are involved when considering the huge interest Pokémon fans have shown in the shared information - regardless of its currently unverified nature.
