Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield news: Latest leak will help you choose between Ponyta and Darumaka; Nintendo fights back
One of the newest leaks about Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, which have been leaked to great proportions over the last few days, concerns the monsters that can be found in each particular title. Some Pokémon trainers do find themselves in a pickle when it comes to buying one of the games: Gold or Silver? Diamond or Pearl? Black or White? It can be a difficult decision to make for hardcore fans who can only purchase one of the pair. However, spoilers for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield have now been posted online that could help gamers choose their preferred title (spoiler alert – details below).
So it seems the only real differences between Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are the exclusive characters and gym leaders. Pokémon fans who adore Turtonator and love Sirfetch’d better get their hands on Sword, while Drampa devotees and Appletun supporters should choose Shield. Early favorite Galarian Ponyta is only going to be found in Pokémon Shield, if the information in the latest leak is genuine, and Galarian Darumaka will be appearing in Pokémon Sword.
Along with the Pokémon exclusives, there will be gym leaders that can only be found in either Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield. Bea, Donnie, and Opal will be in the former title while Allister, Niklas, and Sopp are apparently limited to the latter variant. Some have already claimed that Shield has the stronger characters, but it really depends on personal preferences as the games seem well balanced on the surface.
Several sources of the current Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield leaks have disappeared recently, undoubtedly due to Nintendo’s tough targeting. Twitter accounts have either become protected or suspended, and other social media channels have been reporting copyright strikes coming from the Big N and its legal department. Obviously, the developer is none too pleased about the current flood of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield leaks, which have burst forth just before the games are officially released (November 15).
