Game over: Entire Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield cast of 400 Galar Pokédex characters revealed but alleged leaker may have been nabbed
It’s more than likely heads of some sort will roll after the whole Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield leak farrago has been concluded. The cast of characters has seemingly been shared online (spoiler alert – there is an image at the end of this article featuring names of the Pokémon included) and there are still some surprises to be discovered. The roll-call for the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games consists of 400 little monsters, which means many have apparently been cut from the latest generation of titles, as has previously been feared by fans.
It’s alleged there are 81 new species to be found in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield with 13 additional Galarian forms, making a total of 94 new Pokémon for players to collect. There are 306 older characters joining these new ones to make up the 400 – but this is a considerably lower figure than what many fans were hoping for. There are well over 800 of the collectible little monsters, which means many fan favorites would have been cut for the 8th-generation games.
The newest Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield-related leaks include supposed maps of the Galar regions, abilities, and individual attack information. However, Nintendo has been fighting back as various leaked details and images have been later removed from social media sites and replaced by copyright infringement notices or similar.
There has also been a report that the original poster behind the huge Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield leak has been tracked down by Nintendo. Apparently, the culprit’s Discord profile picture was enough for the company’s sleuths to find the leaker, as the image was also linked to YouTube, which was also linked to Facebook. The person in question must have realized they would get nabbed sooner or later though, especially when messing with a franchise that has the appropriate catchphrase “gotta catch ‘em all”.
