A feature in the latest Pokemon game, Pokemon Let's GO, may get you to load up your game of Pokemon GO on your smartphone. Pokemon that trainers have captured in Pokemon GO can be transferred to Pokemon Let's GO on the Switch. There are a few caveats, but almost every pokemon in Pokemon GO can be transferred.

Pokémon GO has enjoyed a strong audience in the mobile gaming realm, and that audience is likely to grow with the release of Pokémon Let’s GO for the Switch. There’s one feature of the upcoming Pokémon Let’s GO that will likely breath new life into its smartphone counterpart: trading Pokémon between the two games.

Once you reach a certain point in Pokémon Let’s GO, the GO Park will be unlocked. This system will allow gamers to trade Pokémon from their Pokémon GO profile to their Pokémon Let’s GO save file. This feature will work on both the Pikachu and Eevee version of the Switch title. Essentially, the Pokémon traded from GO will be loaded into the GO Park for Let’s GO. Aspiring trainers can then travel to a GO Park on their Switch and receive the Pokémon that have been sent from Pokémon GO.

There are a few restrictions. For one, this process seems to be one-sided at the moment. Pokémon GO can send Pokémon to Pokémon Let’s GO, but these trades cannot happen the other way around. In addition, there are a few event-specific Pokémon and legendaries cannot be sent to Pokémon Let’s GO. For example, the sunglasses variant of the Squirtle evolution line cannot be sent to Pokémon Let’s GO.

Pokémon Let’s GO comes to the Switch November 16th.
