The OnePlus 7T Pro is declared the best smartphone by the GSMA

The OnePlus 7T Pro has won the 2020 Global Mobile Award for Best Smartphone. These gongs, also known as the GLOMO Awards 2020, are conferred by the GSM Association (or GSMA), which had its flagship conference, the MWC, cancelled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The association has revealed that OnePlus received the award as the phone in question is  "virtually unsurpassable from a technology perspective, with class-leading processor speed, rapid charge times and excellent software". Presumably, this refers to its 90Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 855+ SoC, Warp Charge 30T and OxygenOS (OOS) respectively. 

This announcement may set the bar particularly high for the 8T series that will probably launch later this year, not to mention the preceding 8 line. In other OnePlus news, it has just updated its 2017 phones, the 5 and 5T, with a new OOS version (9.0.11).

However, it did not bring Android 10 with it (the OEM currently projects it will upgrade these devices in this way in the second quarter of 2020), although it does replace the security patch with a newer level: February 2020.
