Anker has now launched the Soundcore C50i open-ear wireless earbuds in the US. These clip-on earbuds surfaced online in September and will likely replace the Soundcore C40i from last year. They have the same open-ear design but now feature a new Flexible Open-Ring Design, which is said to offer a more secure and comfortable fit.
Buyers can purchase the Soundcore C50i from Amazon or directly from Anker for $69.99, though Prime members can get it at a launch price of $55.99. That’s notably lower than the original $119.99 price of the C40i, despite packing some neat upgrades.
Soundcore C50i key features
The new Soundcore C50i earbuds adopt an open-ear design that keeps users aware of their surroundings. Each earbud combines a speaker and battery connected by flexible memory titanium, forming a C-shaped frame that molds to the ear. They’re also lighter than the C40i (5.5 g vs. 5.8 g), which should make them more comfortable for extended use.
However, the biggest changes are on the inside. The C50i still uses 12 mm drivers with a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response but is now tuned to deliver deeper bass. They also support the LDAC Bluetooth codec for high-quality audio, AI-enhanced calls, and multipoint connection over Bluetooth 6.0. On top of that, the new models are also said to support live translation for up to 100 languages.
Other highlights include an IP55 rating for water and dust resistance, an upgrade over the IPX4 rating of the C40i. The earbuds feature a physical button for music and call controls, along with a USB-C port for charging. Speaking of which, the C50i can last 7 hours between charges and up to 28 hours with the case. That said, the Soundcore C50i are now available to buy through Amazon and the Soundcore store.
