Anker is planning to launch new wireless earbuds under its Soundcore brand, the D1200. Although not yet official, AnkerInsider has just published extensive and credibly reliable information about the upcoming devices. These are semi-in-ear headphones, meaning they are placed in the ear canal rather than actually plugged in; how well they stay in place will likely depend somewhat on the fit.
11-millimeter drivers are said to be installed, capable of frequencies between 20 and 40 kHz. Support for LDAC means that there should be no reduction in audio quality during data transmission. Four microphones are on board, which not only support noise cancellation on the recording side and thus for a conversation partner, but also support ANC and thus active cancellation of ambient noise when listening. Unsurprisingly, a transparency mode will also be available.
Spatial audio mode is said to be supported, which should provide immersive and spatial audio reproduction. Further features include Google Fast Pair and simultaneous pairing with two devices, as well as the app-supported live translation feature with 100 languages. The battery life of the headphones themselves is reportedly up to seven hours without ANC and six hours with ANC. With intermediate charging, a battery life of up to 30 hours is specified.
The earbuds are expected to hit retail later this year in the US for a price of $100.
