Xiaomi has unveiled its new pair of half-in-ear buds, the Xiaomi Buds 6, in its home turf, i.e., China. Alongside the Buds 6, the company also announced a new camera-focused Xiaomi 17 Ultra (standard variant) and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition. We already covered each model separately, and you can read about them by clicking on the respective model. The new Xiaomi Buds 6 bring notable upgrades over the last-generation model in terms of sound quality.
Design-wise, the earbuds are very similar to last year’s model, featuring the same in-ear design. The main highlight of the Buds 6 is the Snapdragon Sound integration. This means these semi-in-ear buds get aptX Lossless support that offers a massive 2.1 Mbps bitrate, which is higher than Sony’s LDAC. Inside, Xiaomi has packed a triple-magnet driver unit complemented by a 24K gold-plated diaphragm, which further increases high-frequency sensitivity by 30% and offers solid bass and clear sound, according to Xiaomi.
This time around, the Xiaomi Buds 6 are tuned by Harman’s Golden Ear Team, offering multiple sound modes such as Harman Audio EFX mode and Master mode. Like the Buds 5 (curr. at €53.23 on Amazon), the new pair of earbuds also supports adaptive active noise cancellation for a better listening experience. For handling calls, these earbuds have a three-microphone setup with AI-driven wind noise reduction that can cut ambient call noise up to 95 dB.
Speaking of battery capacity, the earbuds boast a 35 mAh battery, while the case houses a 475 mAh battery. Xiaomi claims that the Buds 6 lasts up to 6 hours (ANC off) on a single charge and 35 hours with the case. Other features include an IP54 waterproof rating, dual-device smart connection, Apple Find My, real-time recording, app-based controls, and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity.
Available in pearl white, titanium gold, moon shadow black, and nebula purple, the Xiaomi Buds 6 is priced at CNY 699 ($99). Interested buyers can now purchase the earbuds in China via Xiaomi’s official website.
