A few days have passed since the Sony WH-1000XM6 appeared on Amazon Spain. While the listing has now been taken down, it revealed not only the headphones' release date, but also launch pricing and various improvements over the older WH-1000XM5 (curr. $329.99 on Amazon). In fact, the only element that the listing did not disclose was promotional imagery.
However, that piece of the puzzle appears to have now leaked on Reddit. Approved by The Walkman Blog, the image below is said to originate from a product roadmap that Sony shared internally about 'a week or two ago'. Consequently, we cannot verify its authenticity yet, although that may explain the reason for the image's low resolution.
Regardless, the design changes shown from the WH-1000XM5 align with the details revealed by Amazon Spain. For example, the WH-1000XM6 has foldable hinges, which Sony moved away from with the WH-1000XM5. As a result, the WH-1000XM6 should fit more compactly in a bag or suitcase. On top of that, it seems like Sony has reinforced its hinge design this time around, much to the delight of some WH-1000XM5 owners who have experience cracked hinges in the three years since the headphones' initial release.
