Sony has finally confirmed the launch date for the WH-1000XM6, two days after outlining when it will be introducing the follow-up to last year's Xperia 1 VI (curr. $1,049.99 on Amazon). As it turns out the WH-1000XM6 will arrive on May 15, just as an errant Amazon Spain listing suggested last week.
For the time being, Sony has only revealed that it has a 'new product announcement' scheduled for May 15 at 16:00 UTC. The company has dropped an unequivocal teaser as to what this 'new product' could be, though. However, The Walkman Blog has gone a lot further with its latest leak.
To recap, Amazon Spain showcased almost all hardware specifications last week. Shortly afterwards, a Reddit burner account published the first WH-1000XM6 product image. Then, Dealabs suggested that pricing could vary between €449.99 and €469.99 across the Eurozone. By contrast, WH-1000XM6 should reach the UK and the US for £399.99 and $449.99, respectively.
There have also been consistent suggestions that Sony will offer the WH-1000XM6 in Black, Midnight Blue and Platinum Silver colour options. The Walkman Blog has now confirmed as much by leaking over a dozen product images. Embedded below, the images also reveal the headphones' new folding design, revised carry case and what may be repositioned touch volume controls, too. Please see the images below for more details.
