Realme has often been among the first phone manufacturers to integrate innovative battery tech. Late last year, the company introduced the Neo 7, which launched as one of the first smartphones with a 7,000 mAh SiC battery. While some other Chinese smartphone makers are slowly catching up, Realme has just teased a flagship phone with a 10,000 mAh battery.
Of course, this won't be like the other phones in the GT 7 series that will be available to purchase. Instead, Realme says that it's a concept phone and it will be part of the company's GT series. With a recent teaser, the company has even showcased the back of the phone, which shows a rather bold "10,000 mAh" label (Anker Zolo 10K power bank curr. $12.94 on Amazon).
More interestingly, Realme revealed that the concept GT phone measures only 8.5 mm thick and weighs 215 grams. These numbers are quite impressive for a smartphone with a 10,000 mAh battery. To fill you in, the RedMagic 10 Pro, one of the very few flagship phones with a 7,000+ mAh battery, measures 8.9 mm thick and weighs 229 grams.
As for the tech behind packing such a large battery in a relatively compact phone, Realme explains that the company has made a "major material breakthrough." In an explainer video, the company adds that the battery has 10% silicon anode, which is allegedly the highest in the industry.
The company also claims to have optimized the space inside the phone, with the concept GT smartphone featuring the "shortest" PCB in the "Android world." For safety, there is a "triple protection," which improves battery swelling, electrolyte distribution, and drop resistance. Realme is expected to share more details about the 10,000 mAh phone at the GT 7 series global launch event.
