Sharge has launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for the Shargeek 140 portable charging accessory. Within half an hour of the launch, it had already gained 250 backers and raised over $29,000; the campaign has a funding goal of $3,000 and is due to end on June 6th.
The Shargeek 140 has a 20,000mAh/72Wh capacity, allowing you to recharge an iPhone 15 Pro four times or a MacBook Pro once. You can use the device to simultaneously charge two devices with a maximum 140W output thanks to 100W USB-C and 40W USB-A outputs. A smart display shows the power output and remaining battery level. Another feature is a low currency mode for earbuds and smartwatches, and the device is safe to take on a plane. The accessory has a transparent black exterior and is relatively compact, measuring 158 x 65 x 30.5 mm (~6.2 x 2.5 x 1.2 inches) and weighing around 1 lb (~0.5 kg).
You can pledge $79 to the Shargeek 140 Kickstarter project, which would get you the product for 35% less than the $109 RRP. The accessory is shipping to countries like the US, the UK, Australia and the Netherlands, with delivery estimated for July. As with any crowdfunding campaign, there is no guarantee that you will receive the product. However, Sharge is a well-known brand, with products like the Storm 2 Portable Charger, which could make this a safer campaign to back. It is unclear when the Shargeek 140 will be released for general sale.
