Satechi USB-C Slim Dock for 24-in iMac launches with built-in SSD enclosure
Satechi has launched the USB-C Slim Dock for 24-in iMac. The gadget, designed for the 2021 iMac, has a built-in NVMe SATA NGFF enclosure for additional storage; this is compatible with M.2 NMVe or M.2 SATA SSDs in sizes 2242, 2260 or 2280.
Alongside the SSD reader is a range of ports, including USB-C and USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports that can transfer data at up to 10 Gbps. Two USB-A 2.0 ports can handle up to 480 Mbps transfer speeds, plus there are micro SD and SD card readers. It is worth noting that the USB ports do not support charging or CD readers, such as the Apple SuperDrive.
The gadget is available in silver and blue and is compatible with both 2021 and 2022 24-in iMac models. The dock measures 27.9 x 1.4 x 1 cm (~11.0 x 0.6 x 0.4 in), weighs 10.6 oz (~301 g), and comes with a 34 cm (13.4-in) power cable.
