Samsung may be banking on the success of the latest Galaxy Z Flip-series smartphone in 2023, with alleged plans to increase its production by approximately 100% compared to that of the previous generation. This is the latest in a series of leaks hinting that the Z Flip5 will see an upgrade in its fortunes in a number of ways this year.

Samsung is once again projected to up-scale the amount of foldable smartphones it puts together per year - even more so this time, in fact. The South Korean giant is thought to start manufacturing the Galaxy "Z Flip5" soon - in fact, it is now said to do so at "about double" the volumes associated with the Z Flip4's 2022 production run.

Should this new prediction courtesy of Ross Young prove true, it may suggest Samsung expects the next-gen Z Flip to be a hit - even with the implied extra cost of making it with the folder-icon-shaped cover display tipped to be significantly larger compared to that of its predecessor.

The new Samsung production rumor also presumes to endorse the idea that the Z Flip5 will launch earlier in the year than normal, so as to beat the upcoming iPhone 15 series on a number of levels. It may also hint at the OEM's ever-growing drive to have foldable-display tech take over the mobile device world soon.
