Humongous Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 cover display revealed by new render ↺
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5's release date is rapidly approaching, as are rumours associated with it. Among others, the fifth-generation foldable from Samsung will feature a larger-than-before cover display while being a hair lighter than its predecessor. Sammobile has now stumbled upon renders of the Galaxy Z Flip5's rear display.
It is said to be between 3 and 4 inches in size and covers most of the top half. Some space has been left out to accommodate its two camera sensors, which are not the same ones used in the Galaxy S23 series. This results in a non-rectangular screen with a unique aspect ratio. Twitter leaker @Tech_Reve was kind enough to draw up what the entire assembly could look like.
One can use the extra real estate on the Galaxy Z Flip5 to perform tasks previously not possible on a 1.9-inch screen. That said, intrepid enthusiasts have tried to play full-fledged games on the Galaxy Z Flip4's secondary screen with a surprising amount of success, and it'll be interesting to see what people do with its successor.
Samsung has clearly torn a page off the Oppo Find N2 Flip's playbook with the Galaxy Z Flip5. One UI 5.2 (tentative) should come packed with some new functionalities for the large cover display. Additional multitasking chops would be ideal as it would let users take full advantage of the foldable's powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy.
