Roborock has revealed the V20 robot vacuum and mop in China. The new model is offered with a choice of two docking stations, both compact and offer 60°C hot water mop washing. The robot also has a low profile at 8.2cm (~3.2in) tall, as the lasers sit on the side rather than on top of the device.

The Roborock V20 robot vacuum has officially launched in China. The new model was teased on social media last month before being fully revealed at the 2024 Roborock Global Conference. The company confirmed that the device would have up to 11,000Pa suction power and use mopping pads rotating up to 200 times per minute.

The V20 has FlexiArm mopping, as seen on the QRevo MaxV, which Roborock claims ensures 100% coverage of corners, and the mop can be lifted when a carpet is detected. Plus, the DuoRoller brush should make it easier for the vacuum to pick up hair. Customers are offered a choice of two docking stations, one with built-in dust and water tanks and a second 'smart water supply and drainage version', which can be plumbed into your home. Both offer automatic emptying and replenishing of the onboard tanks, washing the mop at 60°C (~140°F) before drying it. The regular docking station is compact at 34.0 x 48.7 x 51.2cm (~13.4 x 19.2 x 20.2in), but the smart version is shorter at 40.5cm (~15.9in). The robot is only 8.2cm (~3.2in) tall, thanks in part to the lack of a laser turret on the top, as seen on many other models.

Instead, the PreciSense dual light source for LiDAR navigation and obstacle avoidance is on the side of the gadget. With an 8,400 Hz sampling frequency and 10m (~33ft) field of vision, the robot can detect and clean dirtier areas twice. Plus, Pet Mode 3.0 ensures that areas near feeders and litter trays get a deep clean and it can even take pictures of your pet. Alongside the usual app-based controls, the model responds to voice controls, even offline. You can pre-order the standard Roborock V20 robot vacuum and mop in China for 4,799 yuan (~$660), while the 'smart water supply and drainage version' is priced at 5,399 yuan (~$750). Whether or when a version of the new model will arrive in North America or Europe is unclear.
