Roborock V20 new robot vacuum shown in teaser videos
Roborock has teased a new robot vacuum in China, the V20. The model will be officially unveiled at the 2024 Roborock Global Conference on March 29th. A few details about the model have been shared so far, with clues provided in videos and images on the social media platform Xiaohongshu.
The V20 is considered ultra-thin at just 8.2 cm (~3.2 in) tall, with sensors on the side of the body rather than on top. This means the device can easily fit under furniture lower to the floor. The robot can vacuum and mop, with images showing mopping pads rather than a roller mop. A product listing on JD.com suggests that the device has up to 11,000 Pa suction power and uses laser navigation to move around your home with a ToF sensor to avoid obstacles. The robot vacuum can run for over two hours on a single charge, suitable for an area measuring over 140 m² (~1,500 ft²).
Reddit user u/fishy6868 suggests that the docking station has enhanced self-cleaning abilities compared to recent Dreame models. The JD.com page indicates that this includes automatic dust collection, replenishing the onboard water tank, hot water mop washing and drying. The Roborock V20 robot vacuum and mop is available in two versions: one with water tanks in the dock and a second that can be plumbed into your home. The latter is listed on JD.com with a starting price of 5,399 yuan (~$750) and an RRP of 7,199 yuan (~$1,000). Further details of the new model will be revealed at the launch event later this month, where the flagship G20S is also expected to debut.
