Roborock has announced that a new flagship model, the G20S, will be unveiled at a conference at the end of the month. Few details have been shared about the model so far, though the company has highlighted its ability to clean close to the edges of a room. Several differences exist between this model and the V20, which will also be revealed at the event.

The Roborock G20S flagship robot vacuum and mop has been teased on social media in China. Both this model and the new V20 will be revealed at the company’s global conference, which is taking place on March 29th. The main feature advertised by Roborock so far is edge cleaning, though how this compares to older models is unclear.

Like the V20, the G20S is already listed on JD.com, with the product page indicating it has up to 11,000 Pa suction power. Both models use laser navigation and are suited to an area of around 140 m² (~1,500 ft²), running for over two hours on a single charge. The new models also feature a self-cleaning docking station with hot water mop washing and drying. Differences between the G20S and the V20 include a higher capacity water tank for the latter, though it has a lower dust collection capacity of 2.5L compared to 2.7L. Plus, the G20S uses structured light technology for more precise obstacle detection and avoidance compared to the ToF sensor of the V20.

As with the V20, the G20S is offered in two variants: with water tanks in the dock or a smart water supply through connection to your home plumbing. The second version will start at 5,999 yuan (~$850) and eventually retail for 7,999 yuan (~$1,100). This makes it more expensive than the G20S, which has an RRP of 7,199 yuan (~$1,000). More information about the G20S robot vacuum is expected to be revealed at the upcoming event.
