Samsung Galaxy S24 FE could launch earlier than initially anticipated
The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE debuted in October of last year with a questionable mix of hardware. Its successor, the Galaxy S24 FE, is set to follow in its footsteps and launch in Snapdragon and Exynos flavours. If a new report is accurate, Samsung may launch the Galaxy S24 FE earlier than its predecessor.
TheElec (via @negativeonehero, @OreXDA on X) reports that Anapass, a South Korean company, has bagged a contract to supply its TED (Timing Controller Embedded Driver IC) for the Galaxy S24 FE. The smartphone is slated to launch "this summer", tacitly implying it could make an appearance at Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked event alongside the Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Tab S10 and others.
The Galaxy S24 FE will arrive just eight months after the Galaxy S23 FE and six months after the vanilla Galaxy S24. Then again, Samsung could just show off the smartphone at the event and launch it later in the year. The Galaxy S23 FE is what the now-cancelled Galaxy S22 FE would have been, and the Galaxy S24 FE will likely follow suit and use last-gen hardware to prevent it from undercutting its non-FE-branded sibling.
