Samsung Galaxy S24 FE makes Geekbench debut with new Exynos 2400 variant

Early rumours suggested the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE would follow the footsteps of its non-FE version and launch in Exynos and Snapdragon variants. There is some debate about when it will be launched, with one report stating it could arrive as early as July, while another one insists it won't see the light of day until early 2024. A new Geekbench listing suggests the former is more plausible.

The Galaxy S24 FE's Geekbench debut is confirmed by its codename, SM-S721B, which was confirmed by two reports from earlier. It scores 2,047 and 6,289 points in Geekbench's single and multi-core tests. Additionally, its 10-core CPU, combined with motherboard ID, confirms it is running an Exynos 2400 SoC. However, this seems to be a different version compared to the one found on a vanilla Galaxy S24.

This is confirmed by a cursory glance at the clock speed of its prime Cortex-X4 core, which is set at 3.11 GHz, slightly lower than the regular Exynos 2400's maximum clock of 3.21 GHz. Everything else seems to be the same, though, including an Xclipse 940 GPU. In all likelihood, Samsung has used a lower-binned Exynos 2400 SoC on the Galaxy S24 FE, which could explain its slightly lower clock.

Other Galaxy S24 FE specs are said to include a 6.7-inch screen and the same camera setup found on the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 FE (curr. $599 on Amazon). Additional details about the smartphone are unknown at this point, but more details should emerge once its launch date approaches.
