The Samsung S24 FE is coming, and as far as the rumors go, it might land in late fall. However, given the current progress on the leaks, the upcoming affordable flagship may get delayed until early next year. But the phone is definitely in the development stage. At least, that's what the recently surfaced One UI test build has suggested.
Nonetheless, a new leak about the S24 FE hints that the affordable Samsung flagship may disappoint in terms of camera. It is said to come with the same primary sensor found in the regular Galaxy S24, which also had the same camera as the S23 and S23 FE (available on Amazon). That means we may not see an upgrade over the last FE smartphone.
This isn't surprising, however, as Samsung typically reuses the same components in many generations of phones. If you're looking for the specifics of this camera, it's a 50 MP sensor with a 1/1.57-inch size and 1.0 μm pixels. The Galaxy S24, with the same unit as the primary sensor, scored an overall 133 points on DxOMark's smartphone camera benchmark, securing 43rd position in the global ranking.
While there may not be an upgrade over the S23 FE in the camera department, one of the previous rumors hinted at the upcoming S24 FE coming with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in some regions and Exynos 2400 in others. Both are upgrades over the predecessor, which came with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2200.
An earlier rumor has also hinted that we may see Samsung introducing the Galaxy S24 FE with a larger-than-usual screen size. With the year's second Unpacked event around the corner, more details about the upcoming affordable flagship may emerge in the coming weeks.
