Google releases final major Android 14 update with improvements also rolling out to Google Pixel devices
Google continues to publish Android 15 beta builds at a steady rate ahead of the operating system's stable release later this year. However, the company is not done with Android 14 just yet. Instead, it has now released Android 14 QPR3, the third quarterly update for its current stable operating system.
As always, the latest quarterly update has reached Pixel devices first, including the Pixel 8 Pro (curr. $749 on Amazon). Please note that QPR3 is the last major Android 14 update before Google finalises Android 15. Unsurprisingly, obvious changes between Android 14 QPR2 and Android 14 QPR3 are few and far between.
So far, the likes of 9to5Google have noticed that Google has re-categorised a few Settings items, such as integrating the Gboard keyboard vibration preference within the 'Vibration and haptics' sub-menu inside of 'Sound & vibration'. Additionally, Google has re-categorised 'Screen protector mode', which now sits beneath Display and inside the Touch sensitivity menu.
Moreover, Google has added app icons within the default launcher's widgets fly-out. On top of that, Android 14 QPR3 contains various bug fixes and miscellaneous improvements for the Pixel 5a 5G onwards.
