AVM FRITZ!Box 7690 and FRITZ!Box 4050 new routers reported
Two new AVM FRITZ!Box routers are rumored to be on the way. The FRITZ!Box 4050 and FRITZ!Box 7690 were spotted by Daniel Lücking, who posted about them in the IP-Phone Forum. In the thread, users shared files relating to the unannounced models, though the company has yet to reveal details of the devices officially.
The FRITZ!Box 7690 follows the FRITZ!Box 7590, and it has been suggested that the new model will support Wi-Fi 7. Meanwhile, the FRITZ!Box 4050 is expected to be cheaper and limited to Wi-Fi 6. This model is also listed at BoxMatrix, though the accuracy of this specification is unclear. Also mentioned on the forum is the AVM FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro, which was announced early last year. This premium router is designed for DSL and fiber optic, with Wi-Fi 7 compatibility and Zigbee for Matter support.
It remains to be seen when the AVM FRITZ!Box 4050 and FRITZ!Box 7690 will launch, and at what price. The company could unveil its new models at ANGA COM, a Broadband and Media conference being held in Cologne between May 14th and 16th. The AVM FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro is expected to launch this summer for €399.
