Netgear WBE750: Unobtrusive WiFi 7 access point can span multiple networks and supports PoE
Netgear is offering a new and powerful access point, the WBE750, which is likely to be aimed at professional customers. For example, the WBE750 can be used to implement a wireless network connection in a hotel or office building. The device is available in the US and EMEA at an unspecified price (several outlets claim this to be $699.99; interested buyers should contact the company for clarification), which includes a one-year subscription to Insight Cloud Management.
The WBE750 supports WiFi 7, a brand-new wireless standard. The maximum data transfer rate is estimated to be 18.4 GBit/s. As always, this is a theoretical figure that can only be achieved in practice under optimal and less practically relevant conditions with suitable end devices. WiFi 802.11ax/BE, WiFi 802.11a/n/ac/ax/BE and WiFi 802.11b/g/n/ax are supported. According to Netgear, an area of 200 m² can be adequately covered with the WBE750. However, the actual range depends heavily on the room situation. Up to eight separate WiFi networks can be set up and the WBE750 can operate up to 600 devices.
With dimensions of 172 x 172 x 44 millimeters and a weight of just under 1 kg, the system is ideal for wall and ceiling mounting. The single Ethernet connection not only provides high-performance network connections, but also supports PoE. Power consumption is specified as 39 watts and the 802.3bt PoE standard is supported.
As previously mentioned, the price of the device includes a one-year subscription to Insight Cloud Management. This solution is designed to effectively monitor and control networks.
