Gardena announces new smart SILENO city robot lawn mower suitable for narrow spaces
Gardena has launched the smart SILENO city robotic lawnmower 400 m². As its name suggests, the model is suited to lawns 400 m² (~4,300 ft²) in size. The newer LONA Intelligence system can map and navigate your lawn using GPS and various sensors. However, the model comes with a boundary wire to help you to protect newly planted areas.
The SILENO City 400m² also has a CorridorCut tool that enables the mower to move through areas only 60 cm (~24 inches) wide. You can remotely control the mower using EasyApp, setting up no-go zones and a mowing schedule. Plus, the robot uses SensorControl to determine whether or not your lawn needs mowing based on the length of grass, and only mows when the weather is right. Thanks to large wheels at the rear and a third at the front, the mower can tackle inclines up to 35%. The mower generates around 57dB of noise while working, which the company suggests would not disturb you too much if you are relaxing in the garden. Other features include Alexa voice commands and a plant library providing information about the species in your garden.
You can buy the Gardena smart SILENO city robotic lawnmower directly from the manufacturer in Germany for €999.99. The product is also available at Amazon.de, where it is currently reduced to €919.85. Amazon listings for the device have appeared in countries like the Netherlands and Spain, where it retails for €999.99. Plus, customers in the UK can purchase the model for £999.99, though delivery is forecast between late June and mid-October.
