Retroid announces a price increase for the Pocket Nova

Qualcomm recently announced that it will increase the prices of its processors starting September 1, and it looks like hardware makers are already beginning to feel the impact. One of the first companies to respond is Retroid, which has confirmed that the Pocket Nova will soon become more expensive.

Last week, Retroid said that although Qualcomm had signaled possible industry-wide price increases, it was doing everything it could to keep the Pocket Nova's price unchanged. Unfortunately, that is no longer possible. 

The company has now announced that due to “rising Qualcomm chipset and raw material costs,” the Pocket Nova 8+128GB model will receive a $10 price increase, which will push its price from $229 to $239. 

According to Retroid, the new pricing will go live on August 6. The company is also encouraging anyone interested in buying the Pocket Nova to place their order before then if they want to secure the current $229 price. That said, while only the 8+128GB model has been mentioned so far, it remains to be seen whether the 12+128GB model will also receive price adjustments in the future.
