Ayn's two-year old handheld gets a new color

It has been nearly two years since the launch of the Ayn Odin 2 Portal, and while there's the more powerful Odin 3 already, the former is still available for purchase for those on a tight budget. Now, Ayn has announced that the base model of the Odin 2 Portal can be purchased in a new color.

When the Odin 2 Portal was first announced, it was released in three variants — the Odin 2 Portal Base with 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage; the Odin 2 Portal Pro with 12GB of RAM and 512GB storage, and the Odin 2 Portal Max with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage.

Although, the Android handheld was released in Black, White, and Indigo, the base variant could only be purchased in black. That changes today as the Odin 2 Portal Base is now available to buy in Indigo.

According to Ayn, it has leftover Indigo shells for the Odin 2 Portal, so rather than let them waste, it decided to use them for the Odin 2 Portal Base, which is currently the only configuration still available on its website as the Pro and Max variants are out of stock.

The Odin 2 Portal Base in Indigo is available to buy now on the Ayn website for $259, following a price increase in June 2026. It is also still available in Black, if that's what you prefer.

Regardless of the color you choose, the handheld has a 7-inch 120Hz 1080p display with a peak brightness of 800 nits, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, 8GB RAM, and 128GB storage.

It also has an active cooling system, an 8,000mAh battery that charges at up to 27W, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, USB 3.1 Type-C port with Display port support, and a microSD card slot. The Odin 2 Portal features asymmetric thumbsticks with RGB rings, two programmable back buttons, and ABXY buttons in an Xbox layout. It ships with Android 13 out of the box.
