Ayaneo's Game Boy Advance remake has sold 20,000 units, but it's likely more

It has been a few weeks since Ayaneo released the Konkr Pocket Advance, which is its remake of the Game Boy Advance. Although the horizontal handheld is expected to begin to ship by the end of the month, Ayaneo has announced the figures from the first sale, although we believe the number is higher.

According to a post shared by its official Weibo account, Ayaneo says it has sold over 20,000 units of the Konkr Pocket Advance through its official store on JD.com. The announcement was first made over a week ago, which means the number of sold units should be higher now.

In addition, considering this figure is from sales made in China, and doesn't include those bought on its international website, it further lends credence to the speculation that the Konkr Pocket Advance has sold more units than reported. It is worth mentioning that international shipping is yet to begin.

The Konkr Pocket Advance is an Android-powered handheld with a design hat is inspired by the Game Boy Advance. It has a 3.5-inch LCD panel as its screen and is powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T processor, the same one inside the Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini. It is available with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage and features a 4000mAh battery capacity, a cooling fan, and a volume wheel. It ships with Android 12 out of the box.

The Konkr Pocket Advance starts at $89 for the base model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage and goes up to $109 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB version. These prices are currently discounted for early buyers and will increase by $20 later.

The handheld is available in Navy, Coral, and Grey, which are the colors that will ship this month. There's also a Peach Edition that will ship at the end of September and a more expensive Onyx Ice variant that will ship at the end of October. Ayaneo also released a special edition for developers that will not be sold.
