Anbernic has released a new video for its RG 55G1 handheld. The video includes the full spec sheet of the device which looks like a Nintendo Switch Lite, and it reveals it will have a Snapdragon processor.

It has been a couple of months since Anbernic gave us a first look at its new Switch Lite-like handheld, the RG 55G1. Following that reveal and a hands-on video that followed a week after, it has kept mute on the device. It even went ahead and launched another handheld in the form of the RG SP. Now, it seems the Anbernic RG 55G1 will soon launch as a new official unboxing video detailing the device's full specifications and features has been released.

According to the video, the Anbernic RG 55G1 will have a 5.5-inch in-cell IPS touch display with a 1920 × 1080 resolution. It will be the brand's first handheld powered by a Qualcomm processor — the Snapdragon G1 Gen 2 Gaming Platform. There will be two configurations available — a 4GB RAM + 64GB version and an 8GB RAM + 128GB version. There is a microSD card slot for adding more storage.

The Anbernic RG 55G1 will be able to emulate several devices including some light Nintendo Switch games.

If you want to know how it performs, check out reviews of the Retroid Pocket Classic (available on Amazon for $179), as it was the first handheld to launch with the processor. Just know that despite looking like the Switch Lite, the RG 55G1 will struggle to emulate graphically-demanding games made for the Nintendo Switch.

However, it should be able to emulate older consoles and also run light PC games using apps such as GameNative and GameHub. It can also be used to stream games locally from a PC or from cloud gaming services.

The Anbernic RG 55G1 can also be used to stream games from a PC.

The RG 55G1 has a 6,000mAh battery under the hood with support for 18W wired charging via USB-C. Anbernic says users should get up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge. The handheld also features Hall Effect triggers, symmetrical Hall Effect thumbsticks with RGB light rings, and microswitch shoulder buttons. There are stereo front-facing speakers, an audio jack, a microphone above the D-pad, and a cooling fan. The handheld measures 208 × 86 × 17 mm and weighs 339g.

The Anbernic RG 55G1 ships with Android 14 out of the box and also comes with the new RG Home UI that has been rolling out to older Anbernic devices. The handheld will be available in Black, Indigo, and Retro Gray which has colored ABXY buttons. Unfortunately, pricing and availability details are yet to be released.
