Redmi K90 Max: Xiaomi officially confirms new flagship gaming-focused phone

The Xiaomi Redmi K90 series was introduced in October 2025, featuring two models: the standard Redmi K90 and the Redmi K90 Pro Max. Now, the company has officially confirmed a third model named the Redmi K90 Max.
Xiaomi President Lu Weibing has shared several details about the Redmi K90 Max, which is positioned as a gaming-focused flagship device. It features a built-in active cooling fan.
The company says it uses an 18.1mm fan with a vertical air intake design, which it claims delivers 1.3x greater airflow compared to other phones with cooling fans. Xiaomi also claims the active cooling system can reduce the device's temperature by 10°C within 100 seconds of sustained gaming.
The Redmi K90 Max will feature a 165Hz display, higher than the 144Hz refresh rate found on the RedMagic 11 Pro (curr. $799 on Amazon). Xiaomi also revealed the K90 Max will feature a dual-chip setup, though the company has not yet disclosed the details. For reference, the K90 Pro Max features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
The upcoming phone will also feature shoulder buttons. Additional gaming-focused features include optimizations for touch controls, network stability, and in-game audio. The Redmi K90 Max is scheduled to launch sometime in April in China.
