Launch details of Xiaomi's foldable Galaxy Z Fold8 alternative revealed

Xiaomi has a new foldable phone in development. This device is expected to be a book-style one, like the Mix Fold models from previous years, and a new leak has now provided more information on when it could make its debut.
As shared by the typically reliable Kartikey Singh, it appears Xiaomi may have originally intended for the foldable to debut next month—in May. Supposedly, the foldable phone could've been set to debut alongside the Xiaomi 17 Max. That phone is expected to launch as a souped-up, larger version of the Xiaomi 17, and is said to sport a 200 MP camera.
As for the foldable, the source claims it's currently lined up to debut in early July. That's consistent with a previous report on the matter, and still indicates that the foldable could beat Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold8 to launch. Details of the device itself mostly remain elusive, however. Supposedly, it will mostly utilize China-made hardware components, and will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and not Xiaomi's next-gen XRing O2. It's still unclear, too, how it will be branded, or if Xiaomi has any plans of bringing it to the global market.
