Samsung is rumored to increase prices for its Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and the Galaxy S25 Edge phones in its home country. For now, the price hike seems to be limited to select storage models.

Till now, Samsung had been absorbing the costs of higher components, specifically DRAM, and not raising the prices for its premium phones, at least the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip series. However, it looks like the higher prices will finally start coming down to the consumer, starting with its home country first.

According to a report by Newsway (machine translated from Korean), Samsung is planning on increasing the prices for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 (buy on Amazon), Galaxy Z Flip 7 (buy on Amazon), and the Galaxy S25 Edge. The new prices will take effect from April 1 in South Korea. Notably, only the 512 GB and higher storage capacity models will get a price increase. As per the report, the 512 GB models will go up by KRW 100,000 (around $65) and the 1 TB models will go up by KRW 200,000 (around $130).

For now, it looks like prices for the lower storage options will remain unchanged. While this change is being implemented in South Korea, it won’t be surprising if the US and European markets see the same. Samsung has already increased the prices for its budget lineup, including the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy F17 in India.

The reason for this increase is as expected, the sky-high costs for memory. However, this comes at a time when DRAM prices are reportedly starting to fall back down. A recent report showed lower prices in Germany compared to the previous month, and a newer report claims a significant drop in China within a single day.

Whether or not Samsung actually increases pricing globally, remains to be seen.
