Redmi K Pad officially announced as Redmi's first flagship tablet
Redmi has now officially announced its plans to launch its first flagship tablet model. Said tablet, branded as the Redmi K Pad, has been long mooted for a June release and it appears those reports had substance to them.
Taking to its Weibo page hours ago, Redmi confirmed that it will be presenting the Redmi K Pad officially soon. We've referred to the K Pad as the "Redmi gaming tablet" in previous reports, and the Weibo post affirms that it will be a "small tablet with peak performance and luxurious experience". Ergo, the latest entry in a blooming niche of compact, performance-focused tablets after the Legion Y700 (4th Gen) and RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro.
In addition to the Redmi K Pad, Redmi will launch the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition, colloquially known as the Redmi K80 Ultra. That phone will succeed last year's Redmi K70 Ultra as Redmi's flagship smartphone model. Both the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition and Redmi K Pad are expected to feature MediaTek's Dimensity 9400+ flagship chipset and debut together later this month.
