Update: The latest manifestation of Sneki Snek has now been revealed as its new head-cushion form. Therefore, if the top of your gaming chair just isn't adorable or eco-conscious enough, it is available for US$29.99. Like its plushie forebear, it is rated to save 10 trees per purchase.
Sneki Snek has come a long way from its crowd-pleasing gaming mascot beginnings. The mass-appeal character is also now available in plushie form, which is marketed by Razer in conjunction with Conservation International in order to protect nature.
The soft toy's sales contribute to the group's activities, which involve working with and introducing "innovative" technologies and techniques to communities on the ground in forests located in countries such as Costa Rica, Ecuador, Suriname, Brazil, Madagascar and Indonesia so as to better protect and sustain these environments.
Therefore, Razer asserts that every serpentine plushie sold goes toward saving 10 trees. It has also just announced that the mascot has just smashed its initial 100,000-tree goal in this way. Therefore, the OEM has a second themed piece of merch (a "Sneki Snek Ssssssurprise") that will help it to its next milestone of 250,000 trees.
This new and presumably cute thing to buy will be unveiled at the upcoming RazerStore Live show, alongside a number of additional new products and promotions. This event will be streamed from 18:30 PDT March 4/03:30 CET March 5, 2021 via Razer's Twitch, YouTube or Facebook channels.
