ROG Zephyrus G16: Asus confirms over 50% higher starting price for new 16-inch gaming laptop

Almost four months have passed since Asus unveiled a new ROG Zephyrus G16 globally. In the intervening period, the company has showcased a ROG Strix G16 for 2026 that it will be launching later this year. On top of that, it has just released the ROG Zephyrus Duo 2026 in some markets with 16-inch displays too.
Asus offered no indication about ROG Zephyrus G16 (2026) GU606 pricing during the laptop's unveiling at CES 2026 in Las Vegas. Although the laptop remains unavailable to order, Asus has now confirmed UK pricing for three SKUs:
- Intel Core Ultra 9 386H, GeForce RTX 5070, 32 GB LPDDR5X-8533 RAM, 1 TB SSD - £3,199 (~$3,525)
- Intel Core Ultra 9 386H, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, 32 GB LPDDR5X-8533 RAM, 2 TB SSD - £3,399 (~$3,750)
- Intel Core Ultra 9 386H, GeForce RTX 5080, 64 GB LPDDR5X-8533 RAM, 2 TB SSD - £4,099 (~$4,525)
- Intel Core Ultra 9 386H, GeForce RTX 5090, 64 GB LPDDR5X-8533 RAM, 2 TB SSD - £4,899 (~$5,405)
In other words, the ROG Zephyrus G16 (2026) GU606 starts at 17% more in the UK than last year's equivalent GeForce RTX 5070 Ti SKU (curr. $2,799 on Amazon). However, the absence of GeForce RTX 5060 SKUs at launch means that the GU606 costs 28% more than the cheapest GU605 model's MSRP. Worse still, Asus is currently offering this GU605 SKU at a £400 discount. As a result, the GU606 will reach the UK with over a 50% higher price tag than the GU605.
