Now featuring Intel Panther Lake: Asus releases new 14-inch gaming laptop with 16 GB VRAM

Asus has started selling Intel Panther Lake versions of the ROG Zephyrus G14. Efficiently replacing last year's high-end GA403 tiers (curr. $3,298 on Amazon), Asus revealed the GU405 in January at CES 2026. Joined by the a 2026 edition of the GA403 and a refreshed ROG Zephyrus G16 too, the GU405 can currently be purchased in the following configurations:
- Intel Core Ultra 9 386H, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD - £2,899 (~$3,195)
- Intel Core Ultra 9 386H, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD - £3,099 (~$3,415)
- Intel Core Ultra 9 386H, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080, 32 GB RAM, 2 TB SSD - £3,699 (~$4,077)
While these are the same GPUs as last year, they can all boost to higher wattages than in the ROG Zephyrus G14 (2025) GA403. For instance, the GeForce RTX 5070 has jumped from 75 W + 15 W Dynamic Boost to 90 W + 15 W. Meanwhile, the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and GeForce RTX 5080 have moved from 85 W + 25 W to 100 W + 15 W Dynamic Boost.
As a result, the ROG Zephyrus G14 (2026) GU405 ships with a 50 W more powerful power adapter that Asus rates to 250 W. A 120 Hz OLED display returns, albeit now with up to 1,100 nits peak brightness. GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and GeForce RTX 5080 SKUs are already shipping in the UK. Asus expects to begin shipping the entry-level GeForce RTX 5070 variant on April 13.
