Less than a month has passed since One-Netbook released the OneXFly Apex under its OneXPlayer sub-brand. Unfortunately, the company has now detailed the extent of upcoming price rises before the AMD Strix Halo handheld ships, with One-Netbook blaming out-of-control memory costs as the root cause.

Less than a month has passed since One-Netbook began offering the OneXFly Apex on Indiegogo under its OneXPlayer sub-brand. Competing directly with the GPD Win 5, the OneXFly Apex is significantly more powerful than other OneXFly stablemates like the OneXFly F1 Pro (curr. $1,439 on Amazon). With extra performance comes higher production and retail costs, though.

Specifically, the OneXFly Apex started at $1,399 on Indiegogo with 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage and an AMD Ryzen AI Max 385 APU with a Radeon 8050S iGPU. For those after the powerful Radeon 8060S, one needed to shell out at least $1,599 for Ryzen AI Max+ 395 SKUs, or $1,659 for One-Netbook's optional liquid cooling variant. Unfortunately, the company has announced that these prices are soon set to rise by up to 14%.

From Monday, December 1, the OneXFly Apex will start at $1,599, or $1,659 for its liquid-cooled sibling. As the embedded tweet below shows, One-Netbook blames 'continued component cost increases' for the sharp increase, as well as depleting RAM and SSD inventory. Currently, the company has applied a $200 surcharge evenly. However, it warns that a second price increase could occur before the Apex's Indiegogo campaign ends on December 31.
