The Miniloong Pocket 1 has come out of nowhere as a new budget gaming handheld with a difference. On the face of it, the Pocket 1 is another Rockchip RK3566 handheld like the Abxylute E1, GameMT E6 Plus and Powkiddy X55 (curr. $118 on Amazon). However, Miniloong seeks to distinguish its new handheld in a key area.
For reference, Miniloong equips the Pocket 1 with 1 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and a 4,000 mAh battery that supports 7.5 W wired charging. Additionally, the device contains 8 GB of eMMC flash storage, two microSD card readers and a mini HDMI port for connecting to external displays. Alternatively, games can be played on the Pocket 1's internal IPS display, which outputs at 960 x 720 pixels with a 4:3 aspect ratio and 450 nits peak brightness.
According to Miniloong, the Pocket 1 separates itself from the pack in two areas. On the one hand, the handheld supports hot-swappable face plates that are held in place with magnets. On the other hand, the device has two d-pad designs to choose from, which can be swapped around at will, too.
The Miniloong Pocket 1 will officially be available in China on January 29 at 10:00 local time. The device has already reached AliExpress though, where it is available for around $83 in white and retro finishes. There is no word on official availability outside China yet.
