Oukitel WP5000The Oukitel WP5000 is a newly released rugged smartphone. It is built for the adventurers, and suits for outdoor enthusiasts, long-distance drivers, couriers, swimmers, building workers, etc. It is characterized by a particularly robust design and offers not only a strong battery but also a large display and the possibility to use two SIM cards in parallel operation. The device’s body is made of zinc alloy and military tri-proof plastic to result in a rather rugged body. The Oukitel WP5000 is available in the colors black, green and orange. Unlike other rugged smartphones, which are heavy and thick, the WP5000 looks long and slim due to the 18:9 design. In the 168.8 x 81.9 x 13.9 millimeter-sized case, Oukitel packs a 5.7-inch display in 18: 9 format on the WP5000, which delivers an HD + resolution of 720 x 1,440 pixels. It has a pixel density of 282 pixels. Protecting the screen from falls and damages is a Dragontrail glass. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek processor ( Helio P25 / MT6757CD ) with eight cores clocked at up to 2.5 GHz. As for RAM, running processes are swapped out to the 6 GB RAM. Besides that, 64 GB of storage space is available for apps and other personal data. If 64 GB is not enough, the storage space is expandable up to 128 GB via micro SD card. Oukitel has also integrated a dual camera from Samsung into the WP5000. Its two lenses can provide a resolution of up to 21 or 8 MP. A 13-MP front camera is ready for selfies and video calls. It is expected to offer a clear and wonderful selfie shooting experience. A separate headphone jack is omitted in the new outdoor smartphone by Oukitel. Instead, the manufacturer relies on a USB Type-C connector, to which by means of an adapter also a classic headphone is to be connected. Alternatively, audio connections are also available via the Bluetooth 4.0 interface. On the software side, the IP68-certified Oukitel WP5000 is powered by Android 7.1.1. and thus is a little behind the market at this point. The situation is different with basic mobile phone functions. In addition to GSM and UMTS connections, LTE is also supported, including the LTE bands 3, 7, 8 and 20. Installed in addition to the above-mentioned hardware services and the phone's 5,200 mAh battery features fast charging. However, even with fast charging, it could take up to 2.5 hours to charge from 0 to 100 %. A notification LED informs about missed calls and messages. Despite being a newcomer in the Android market, Oukitel is gaining its market share rapidly in the last couple of years. The WP500 is an example of what it can offer in an affordable price range, making it a desirable choice for many. Hands-on article by Jagadisa Rajarathnam

The Oukitel WP2 combines the two favorite aspects of Chinese smartphones: a robust presentation and huge batteries. But can the rest of the equipment keep up as well?
Source: Tech Switch
The Oukitel WP2 is a combined bag the place some options are pretty much as good as better-known manufacturers, and others fall fairly quick. The shortage of US frequency bands negates its use within the Americas and Canada, and it’s too heavy to be an on a regular basis gadget. However in the event you intend to hike, surf or journey off the crushed observe, and also you don’t fancy taking an costly top-tier cellphone with you, then the WP2 is virtually ultimate. It’s sturdy, has nice battery life, can deal with water immersion and may take a good image in good lighting circumstances. The WP2 won’t be nice at a lot, however for the asking value, it represents glorious worth.
