DJI released multiple action cameras last year, including a direct replacement for both the Osmo Action 4 and Osmo Action 5 Pro. In short, the Osmo Action 6 brought variable aperture camera hardware to the Osmo Action series. Meanwhile, the Osmo Nano and Osmo 360 (curr. $418 on Amazon) expanded DJI's action camera range in different directions.
A recent regulatory body listing indicates that DJI is already developing an Osmo 360 successor too. Specifically, the Osmo 360 II has appeared on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). If the RS 5 camera stabiliser is anything to go by, then the Osmo 360 II may not be available to purchase in the US, though.
Setting DJI's fractious relationship with the US aside, the FCC reveals a few details about the Osmo 360 II ahead of its official release. For instance, the action camera will maintain Bluetooth Low Energy 5.1 and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity despite newer standards being available. Also, the Osmo 360 II will adopt a different battery than the 1,950 mAh and 7.5 Wh cell that underpins both its predecessor and the Osmo Action 6.
As the image below shows, DJI has certified the Osmo 360 II with a 2,150 mAh battery. From the 3.86V voltage listed, we can infer that this battery also packs 8.3 Wh of energy. Thus, the Osmo 360 II should ship with a circa 10% larger battery than its predecessor. Other hardware details about the Osmo 360 II remain unknown for now. However, DJI's confidentiality letter implies that the company hopes to release the Osmo 360 II around May or June 2026.
