MagyarOptibike RIOT powerful new eMTB arrives with 180-mile range
Optibike has unveiled a new eMTB, the RIOT. According to the company, its latest all-terrain model is the most powerful e-bike of its kind and has the longest range. The US version of the RIOT, the Class 1, has a 750W motor with an alleged 190 Nm torque, allowing you to climb a 46% gradient. Here, the top speed is limited to 20 mph (~32 kph).
The RIOT EU eMTB has a 250W motor limited to 16 mph (~25 kph) to comply with local regulations. Both models feature a dual-sided pedelec torque sensor for natural feeling assistance and a 1,620Wh lithium-ion battery for an estimated 180 mile (~290 km) range. At the front is a RockShox ZEB Ultimate Suspension Fork, and at the rear is a Fox 230x65 Float X Air Shock, both with 170mm Travel. Customers can personalize their e-bike with options like a 14-speed Rohloff geared hub or cassette and derailleur. Other features include large disc brakes, a handlebar-mounted LCD display and an optional 2,700-lumen headlight.
The carbon fiber frame and swingarm help to keep the bike lightweight, with the model weighing around 68 lbs (~31 kg). You can now pre-order the Optibike RIOT Class 1 and the RIOT EU eMTBs with prices starting at $14,400 (~€13,200); when the company will ship the bikes is unclear. Plus, it is worth noting that the company states that limited quantities are available.
