OnePlus says OxygenOS bootloop bug is fixed; rollout resumes for OnePlus 15, 13 series, and Nord CE6

After being forced to pause the latest round of OxygenOS updates to several devices following reports of boot loops, OnePlus has now resumed the rollout. The company says the issue, which affected versions 16.0.7.xxx and 16.0.5.xxx, has now been identified and resolved.
For the uninitiated, OnePlus kicked off the May software rollout with the OnePlus 15 and Nord CE6, and both phones began receiving new OxygenOS 16-based updates in small batches on May 11. The OnePlus 12R, Nord CE6 Lite, OnePlus 13, and OnePlus 13S joined a few days after. However, on May 15, the company announced in a blog post the temporary suspension of the rollout, stating that a small number of devices were experiencing abnormal restart and boot issues after updating to versions 16.0.7.xxx and 16.0.5.xxx.
On May 18, the company posted a status update that it had successfully identified and resolved the bug that caused the issue, and that the rollout of the new OxygenOS builds was now underway for the aforementioned devices.
OxygenOS update brings smoother animations, UI improvements, and more
The new updates bring a ton of improvements and useful changes to the OnePlus 15, OnePlus 13, and OnePlus 13S. The changelog is nearly identical for the three models, except for a few changes. Thanks to the new Luminous Rendering Engine and improvements to the Trinity Engine, the new update promises a more fluid UI experience. OnePlus says users will notice smoother, more responsive animations across floating window actions, the notification drawer, and Quick Settings, alongside a more fluid app-scrolling experience.
On the AI front, there is a genuinely useful offline translation tool that can decipher foreign restaurant menus—right down to currency conversions and allergens—and an upgraded document scanner that auto-saves and recognizes handwriting. The lock screen also gets an overhaul with a dual-mode design featuring notification capsules that avoid obscuring your wallpaper, alongside a new layout to organize apps by color.
Other noteworthy highlights include new Camera Master presets, refreshed camera UI elements, improved battery usage stats, and the May 2026 Android security patch.
If you are rocking a Nord CE6 or CE6 Lite, don’t expect a flashy overhaul. The Nord CE6 / CE6 Lite updates focus mostly on under-the-hood improvements and stability, bringing better camera previews, enhanced network reliability, and a smoother gaming experience at higher frame rates. The OnePlus 12R's update is even more sober, as it only brings in the May 2026 Android security patch.
Rollout resumes in India, with global expansion to follow soon
The OnePlus 13 / 13S, Nord CE6 / CE6 Lite, and OnePlus 12R updates are currently live in India, with other regions expected to follow soon. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 15 update is rolling out globally. As always, OnePlus is playing it safe with an incremental rollout, so it might take a few days to hit your device.
