Nvidia releases new Game Ready 595.71 driver, but Resident Evil Requiem players are still reporting performance issues

Nvidia recently released its Game Ready 595.59 driver. It was supposed to optimize GeForce GPUs for Resident Evil Requiem, which launched just days ago. Instead of improving performance, the update caused new problems for many RTX users. Some reported fan detection issues, while others noticed performance instability.
Shortly after the complaints started piling up, Nvidia pulled the 595.59 driver and began working on a replacement. Now, the company has released Game Ready driver 595.71, which is meant to fix the issues introduced in the previous version.
According to the official patch notes, 595.71 resolves bugs related to hardware monitoring utilities not detecting all GPU fans. It also fixes a problem where one or more fans would stop spinning after installing the earlier driver. Both of these issues were widely reported with 595.59. However, some Resident Evil Requiem players are reporting new performance problems after updating.
One user with an RTX 4080 Super shared that on driver 576.88, they were getting around 110 FPS in Resident Evil Requiem. After installing 595.71, their FPS dropped to around 91 FPS. They also noticed GPU power draw decreasing from roughly 310W to around 260-270W.
Another report came from a user running an RTX 4090. They claimed that after updating to 595.71 and enabling DLSS in Resident Evil Requiem, the game immediately crashed, but rolling back to an older driver fixed the issue. When they reinstalled 595.71 again to test, they faced the same issue. On X, several other users in a thread have mentioned voltage issues and poor performance after installing the new driver.
