Dell could be preparing multiple Windows laptops with the Nvidia N1X ARM APU, as a Dell 16 Premium laptop of exactly that flavor has appeared online. The N1X is rumored to bring 10 CPU cores and more than 6,000 CUDA cores.

We reported back in October 2025 that the Nvidia N1X APU was delayed to a mid-2026 launch. The ARM-based N1X APU is reportedly primarily meant for Windows laptops, with a chance that Nvidia could release the APU for desktops. Interestingly, we also heard about a possible 16-inch Dell Alienware gaming laptop powered by the N1X APU that was targeting a Q1 2026 release date.

While there were new Alienware laptops shown at CES 2026, scheduled for a Q1 2026 launch, Dell revealed no machine powered by the Nvidia N1X. So, if an Alienware gaming laptop with the Nvidia N1X does exist, it has now been pushed back.

When and if the N1X-based Alienware gaming laptop does launch, it will likely come with a new multimedia entry from Dell, as a Dell 16 Premium laptop powered by the Nvidia N1X has come to light.

Spotted by @Olrak29 on X, the Dell 16 Premium appears to feature the “ES2” Nvidia N1X and an OLED display. Dell rebranded its high-end multimedia “XPS” laptops to “Dell Premium” machines in 2025. This move was heavily criticized by both the consumers and the media alike, resulting in Dell moving back to the “XPS” branding for 2026.

Since the leaked Dell laptop is referred to as the Dell 16 Premium and not the XPS 16, it seems that the Nvidia N1X-powered machine has been under development for a while. This strongly suggests that Dell may have had the Dell 16 Premium or XPS 16 ready for a possible CES 2026 unveiling and a Q1 2026 launch. However, Nvidia could have delayed the Nvidia N1X to mid/Q2 2026, which aligns with our previous reporting.

Let’s hope that the Nvidia N1X is worth the wait, as the competition is more fierce than ever with the new Intel Panther Lake, AMD Ryzen AI Max+, and Snapdragon X2 series SoCs.
