With the Nintendo Switch 2's release approaching, rumors continue to swirl. Most recently, the console’s alleged price was leaked. A newly discovered patent hints at a 180-degree flip function for the Joy-Con and speculation even suggests GTA 6 could launch on the Switch 2. The latest leaks center on the dock, with new CAD renderings now circulating.
The leaked images of the Nintendo Switch 2 dock come from a leaker on the Chinese platform Xiaohongshu. This leaker previously released CAD renderings of the console that closely matched the official design. The latest images were also shared on Famiboards.
The design of the Switch 2 dock looks much rounder than that of the current model (available on Amazon for $53). Numerous small openings on the underside suggest an improved cooling system, likely necessary given the expected performance boost over its predecessor. The ports are also worth noting. Alongside the standard HDMI output, the dock features a LAN port, allowing for a more stable wired connection instead of relying on WiFi. Previously, this advantage was exclusive to owners of the Switch OLED, released in 2021 (available on Amazon for $260).
